The Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians is one of the oldest non-profit
music organizations in the United States devoted to the presentation and performance of contemporary music. The year 2015 concluded a successful 50th anniversary celebration, we
are thankful to be privileged with the opportunity to present and perform contemporary music
as our journey continues.

Muhal Richard Abrams

The AACM New York Chapter, Inc. congratulates AACM Co-Founder
and AACM New York President Muhal Richard Abrams on receiving a
PhD. in Human Letters, honoris causa from DePaul University. This is
his second honorary degree; Dr. Abrams was also the keynote speaker
at the graduation ceremony.

Dr. abrams is a 2015 Recipient of the Doris Duke Performing
Artist Award.
